THE TEAM

Director and Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R506879)

Marty Baram is the Director of SYMY Immigration Consultants and Recruitment. In addition to his role as the Director of SYMY, Marty is a member of the Transitional Board of Directors at the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).

Marty is an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law and was an Instructor of Immigration: Laws, Policies and Procedures at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Marty is very well versed with the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application process and is regarded as an expert in the field.

His other areas of expertise are: International Recruitment, Francophone Mobility Program, Permanent Residence applications- specifically Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs. Marty received his Immigration Consulting Diploma from Humber College where he graduated with honors. Marty is a member in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC #R506879) and The Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC #R12214).

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R514263)

Meghan joined the SYMY team in 2014. Prior to becoming a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, she had a career in International Development that allowed her to travel and work on a number of exciting projects in different countries all around the world. She realized there was a need for honest, trustworthy immigration advice and decided to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. In addition to her role at SYMY, Meghan works as a Permanent Residence Advisor at the University of Calgary, offering Permanent Residence advice to their International Student Population.

Meghan received her Immigration Consulting Diploma from Ashton College. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta and a Master’s Degree in International Development from York University. Meghan is a member in good standing of the CICC (R514263) and CAPIC (Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants).

Her areas of expertise are: Francophone Mobility, LMIAs, Permanent Residence applications- specifically Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, Family Class Sponsorship, Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases. She is also skilled at helping clients maintain valid temporary status in order to remain in Canada while on the path to becoming a Permanent Resident.

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R525254)

Ben is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and a member of CAPIC (Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants). Ben joined the SYMY Immigration Team in 2020. He has experience relating to temporary and permanent residence applications to Canada. He uses his personal experiences and passion throughout his Canadian immigration journey to help his clients. He strongly believes that his client’s success are his success.

Ben has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Mass Communication from Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, United Kingdom. He also graduated from Ashton College in Immigration Consultant Diploma with honors. He is able to communicate fluently in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay.

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant – IRB  (R530973)

Heather is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC- IRB) since 2019 and member of CAPIC (Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants). 

Heather joined the SYMY Immigration team in 2018. She is a very strong and passionate client advocate with experience in all Canadian immigration processes including temporary residence, permanent residence and citizenship. She specializes in evaluating client needs in consultation and in finding solutions to their immigration issues. She has experience with Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs in addition to Family Sponsorship and Humanitarian & Compassion applications. 

Heather has also earned the special IRB license as counsel to appear before the Immigration and Refugee board for refugee, inadmissibility, appeals and detention review hearings.

Heather has a Bachelor degree from the University of Alberta and was initially drawn to Immigration work through years of volunteering in refugee support and resettlement. The desire to meet the needs of immigrants and newcomers to Canada drew her to pursue a post-graduate diploma in immigration consulting at Ashton College. Heather takes client goals and needs seriously and provides SYMY clients with trusted advice, courtesy and dedication.

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant R711400

Vivian is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Vivian joined the SYMY Immigration team in 2021. Before joining the SYMY team, she was a Legal Assistant for almost 30 years and has a strong legal background in various areas of law. Her passion for Immigration began at the start of her legal career where she was dealing with various matters such as Immigration applications, hearing preparation, citizenship, and preparation of materials for Federal Court applications.


Vivian has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Calgary, a Legal Assistant Diploma from Career College, and a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from CDI College. Her passion for law and particularly the area of Immigration drew her to pursue a Diploma in Immigration Consulting at CDI College. Vivian is very passionate and dedicated to helping her clients reach their goals.

Shubham Kumar

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R731147)

Shubham is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) who joined the SYMY team in 2022. 

He has a unique perspective on the immigration process, having come to Canada as an international student in 2015 and graduated from Centennial College in Toronto with a Diploma in Business Administration. After experiencing the challenges of settling in a new country, Shubham developed a keen interest in the immigration sector and embarked on a journey to become an RCIC.

Shubham’s warm and approachable demeanor puts clients at ease, and his friendly communication skills allow him to build strong relationships with those he works with. 

He is passionate about helping others navigate the complex immigration process and is available to serve clients in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Peri

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R713110)

Peri is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC). Peri joined the SYMY Immigration team in 2022.

Peri graduated from the Queen’s University in Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law (GDipICL), and was awarded the CAPIC Award of Academic Excellence 2022. She is also a National Advisory Committee member of the program.

Inspired by her personal experience, she was determined to help other immigrants-to-be in their journeys to Canada.

She believes that knowledge, integrity and trust can lead to client success.

Peri attained a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) degree in Psychology from the University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Arts degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Peri is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant R712954

Daniel joined the SYMY Immigration Consultants team in 2022 and prior to becoming an RCIC, he spent twelve years as an Officer with Canada Border Services Agency.  

His experience with the CBSA has allowed him to gain significant knowledge pertaining to the interpretation and application of immigration legislation and policies. He brings to SYMY considerable experience with international agreements(eg. CUSMA and GATS), various Canadian immigration programs (eg. Francophone Mobility Program, and International Mobility Program) and admissibility.

In addition to a baccalauréat-ès-arts (BA) in sciences politiques from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean, he also holds a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law from Queen’s University. 

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (R713099)

Matt is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC). Matt joined the SYMY team in 2018.

Prior to joining SYMY, Matt worked overseas as an English language teacher in both Georgia and South Korea, and his time abroad has led him to gain an appreciation relating to immigration and settling into a new country.

Matt has extensive experience in temporary resident visas (work permits, study permits, visitor visas), and is always happy to speak to people about how to best immigrate to Canada.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science from Vancouver Island University, a Master of Arts degree in European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies from Carleton University, and has a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law from Queen’s University.
